Introduction: Primary hyperparathyroidism is a common endocrine disorder, surgery is curative. Patients with severe hypercalcemia receive cinacalcet or intravenous bisphosphonates as bridging. Intra-operative-parathyroid-hormone (IOPTH) measurement improves surgical accuracy. Bisphosphonates may increase PTH, while cinacalcet reduces it.
